Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is an British and American sitarist. She also performs music. She is the youngest female and also the first woman to receive the British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging young star of sitar music. Indian sitar. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career bouncing between London and New Delhi. In the age of thirteen, she gave her debut performance in New Delhi. Then she relocated to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha even though she is just a teenager, has had an impressive recording and performing career. She has performed with her father on stage for many years. Her debut solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. Two years later she released the Grammy nomination-winning Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at every major venue as well, she has an extensive stage presence.
